2025/26 Season

in addition to her position as Artistic Director of san francisco opera center and merola opera program, Carrie-Ann Matheson continues her performing career. Her 2025/26 season features a series of international recital appearances alongside several of today’s leading vocal artists in prestigious venues.

Her season begins in Vienna, On October 14th, 2025, where she performs at the Wiener Staatsoper with Rolando Villazón. she presents a program centered on Italian song from early baroque selections through Bellini and Verdi, concluding with works by Tosti, Puccini, and Neapolitan composers.

Matheson performs on several occasions this season with tenor benjamin bernheim. Their first recital of the season is On November 19, 2025, at Victoria Hall in Geneva, where the duo performs a recital of French mélodie, Italian repertoire, and twentieth-century chanson. She reunites with Bernheim on February 4, 2026 at Princeton University in New Jersey, and February 8 at the Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Further engagements with Bernheim follow in the spring. She appears on April 10, 2026 at Saint-Guillaume in Strasbourg, on April 21 at Alice Tully Hall at Juilliard in New York City, and on April 28 at Cabell Hall in Charlottesville, Virginia. The season culminates with a performance at the Berlin Staatsoper on May 2, 2026.

On March 1, 2026, Matheson performs with Giorgi Giuliashvili at St. Mark’s-in-the-Valley in Los Olivos, California for the Santa Ynez Valley Concert Series, featuring an afternoon of Italian repertoire including Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Neapolitan songs, and operatic arias.

in 2025 matheson is in residency at Yale university and canadian opera company, and in 2026, she is the John R. Stratton Visitor in Music at the UNIVERSITY of toronto.
